CABLEGNOSIS Project Presented at IFLES 2026 in Beijing
The CABLEGNOSIS project was represented at the International Forum on Large Electric System (IFLES) 2026, held in Beijing, China, from 26 to 28 May 2026, bringing together experts and leading organisations from the international power systems community.
The participation took place in the context of the strong international presence of CIGRE Greece – the Greek National Committee of CIGRE, which acted as a Special Supporter of IFLES 2026 and contributed to the international exchange on the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of electricity systems.
As part of the Forum, CABLEGNOSIS Project Coordinator Christos Christodoulou, from the High Voltage and Electrical Measurement Laboratory of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), delivered a keynote speech entitled:
“Technologies for the development in innovative HVDC cable systems – CABLEGNOSIS project.”
The presentation showcased the project’s research and innovation activities in the field of innovative HVDC cable systems, highlighting their potential contribution to the development of more resilient, efficient and sustainable electricity networks.
IFLES 2026 provided a valuable platform for exchanging knowledge on advanced power system technologies and discussing the challenges and opportunities for the future of electricity transmission. The participation of CABLEGNOSIS offered an opportunity to present the project’s objectives and research activities to an international audience of experts in power systems, high-voltage transmission and energy technologies.
Through its participation in international scientific and professional events, and through its engagement with organisations such as CIGRE Greece, CABLEGNOSIS continues to strengthen its international visibility, foster research connections and contribute to the global dialogue on innovative cable technologies and the future of power transmission.
